Kelvingrove Art Gallery

16th May 2006

Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow closed in June 2003 for refurbishment. I read somewhere that one of the biggest undertakings in the reburbishment was the cleaning. Apparently over 80 years or dirt was removed from decorative ceilings, wall paneling and floors. And one small section was left to highlight the contrast between before and after. So on Tuesday 11 July and after £27.9 million spent on snazzing it up, it's almost ready to be opened to the public. Take a virtual tour on the official gallery website.
