manasarovar

25th Feb 2005

I received a personal letter from the writer-director of an upcoming feature film called Manasarovar

The film is starting its theatre run in UK from Glasgow Film Theatre this Sunday.

Manasarovar was made for about 20000 pounds on a 16MM camera bought from EBAY and has won many awards and participated/selected in prestigious festivals.

Aravindan Puraskaram for Best Debut Director in India - Gollapudi Srinivas National Award for Best Debut Director in India - Official Selection - London Film Festival 2004 (only feature film from India) - Opening Film, Indian Panorama, International Film Festival of India, Goa, 2004 - Best Film and Special Jury Prize, International Film Festival of Mumbai, 2005 - Fukuoka International Film Festival, Fukuoka, Japan, 2005

Needless to say we have zero marketing budget. But if our film attracts a good crowd in Glasgow we can get more theatre bookings in UK.
The film is showing on Sunday 27th February at 2pm and Monday 28th February at 8.45pm at Glasgow Film Theatre. Later the film continues at Dundee Contemporary Arts, the Watermans Center in Brentford and the Tricycle Cinema in Kilburn.

In April Manasarovar will be released in India and later on this year in USA.
