The Eigenharp by Eigenlabs is a very strange electronic musical instrument that can sound like a clarinet, the drums, a synthesiser... in fact pretty much any instrument you can think of!
It plays and records loops, changes scale and key, transposes, alters tempo, programs beats, creates arrangements, switches and layers multiple sounds, all while the musician is performing live on stage. Check out the video on the BBC site for an demonstration.
