Screen resolution

29th Sep 2003

Unless you are short-sighted or prefer to have enormous web pages, I would recommend anyone presently using their PC with an 800 x 600 resolution to PLEASE change it to at least the next setting up, which is 1024 x 768. You should have a much more enjoyable surfing experience. I say this as I have noticed an increase in web sites which are designed for a specific size, as opposed to a more universal approach! A prime example of this is a really well designed site called Hicks Design. Try viewing this site with an 800 x 600 res! Doesn't look too good because the scrollbars appear along the bottom. Maybe you're used to this already!!To change your screen resolution, follow these instructions:

  1. go to your desktop and right click
  2. choose properties
  3. then the settings tab
  4. you should see the screen resolution settings near the bottom left
  5. move the pointer in the MORE direction to your preferred setting
  6. that's it! You can experiment until you find a suitable resolution. Good luck!
