There is a good article here about the future of browsers. The plans of the software giant Microsoft show that a new version of Explorer on Windows will be released in 2005 and will be tied hand and foot to Microsoft's new OS instead of being generally available for downloading.Therefore end users are stuck with Explorer 6 for the next few years and have to spend a lot of money to upgrade their browser afterwards.
