Sending HTML email, which I do with my own clients, is fraught with difficulties not least being the visual appearance across the various email clients. So there's some interesting statistics highlighted at Sitepoint that Litmus (the email testing application providers) have produced, which details a rough cross section of the most popular email clients in use at this time. Hotmail, Yahoo and Outlook share more than 75% of users, while suprisingly, Gmail represents a small share of the market, on a level-par with Apple Mail!
