Chicken of the Wood

Last week Jamie Oliver was cooking with mushrooms and was using fungus he'd cut from a tree (called Chicken of the Wood) and I thought it looked a bit dodgy but after he'd cooked his Venison & Mushrrom Stroganoff I have to admit it looked great.

Then today I happened upon an old haunt of mine The Sneeze where the often hilarious column "Steve, Don't Eat It!" was focussed on the very same fungus.
