The Glasgow Independent Studio website has been launched ... and just in time too for the Glasgow Art Fair.After a LONG time in development with lots of design changes and different personnel involved I ended up building the whole system myself with PHP and a MySQL backend.It has a nifty set of administration features: apart from practically every bit of text on the site being editable, there is a mailing system which allows users to sign up for postal and/or email invitations for exhibition openings. (It holds the names and addresses which can be printed out to labels for posting). Upcoming exhibitions and artists are represented by images which are uploaded with automatic thumbnail generation. Mass emails (from the emailing list) can be sent from the site. Bold and italic text and hyperlinks can be easily created by the administrators. Images can be deleted.It has taken me roughly the last two months (in the evenings and weekends) to complete it. I hope you like it!
