RSS Will Not Make the Mainstream

Scrivs at Wisdump suggests that because the mainstream will never really need to aggregate 100 websites' content into one application RSS will not make it big this year, which seems fair enough from the outset but as Jeff Croft suggests (in the comments) RSS will be used by the mainstream in other ways, like Widgets, they just won't know it's RSS that's powering their Widget.
