Eels - Blinking Lights and Other Revelations
14th Feb 2006
Blinking Lights and Other Revelations by Eels is a slow grower and a classic in the making no less. I keep returning to it without getting bored. It's got 33 tracks which probably helps (a bit like Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins).
The pace throughout is perfect for listening to while working. It's difficult to pick highlights because there isn't a duff track on the album... and that must say something considering the number of tracks. However, if I had to choose a couple I'd say "In The Yard, Behind The Church" and "Whatever Happened To Soy Bomb" are absolute belters.
