Kelis - tasty

The Kelis album tasty was released late last year (2003). This is her third album, following on from (her debut) Kaleidoscope and Wanderlust, and I have to say I like it a lot.Standout tracks are Trick Me and Stick Up. The latter is built round an electric piano / organ riff I now always associate with DJ Shadow when I hear anything like it. Trick Me has a loose dub undercurrent, combined with a hip-hoppy beat and a lovely, phat, farty, squelchy bass ... I love it.Overall, tasty provides a mix of excellent ballad-type songs following the current fashionable R&B and hip-hop trends.
